On Our Way~Heading to Sandusky, OHIO

We are on our way. It's a 5 hour drive and 6 with our pit stops. Logen and Andrew sleep most of the way down. We woke them from their morning slumber. The motel is less than expected. There are 3 double beds in one room (should have been two rooms), there are smokers around us and our room should have been no smoking, the floor was "sticky" and "smelly" and the TV got 8 channels that we had to manually change like the good old days. For the time spent there and what we needed it for it was PERFECT. Each nuance added to the ambiance of the trip.

A Bit O' Cards

After our travels south and time in the pool when we arrived, we spent the evening playing cards and hanging out. Kami looks almost comatose as she watches a video and the rest of us gather round for a bit' of harmless cards, blackjack and texas holdem', then on to Eucher. Andrew and Logen spent many a days in school with classmates playing Eucher and had to teach me how to play. It is similar to Pinochle which Jerome taught me a few years ago.

Lazy River

Jordan enjoys time on the lazy river. There were two that you could enjoy and each one had different waterfalls, sprinklers and water spouts to get you nice and wet~so much for "lazy" ride down the river.

Brothers and Best Friends

Logen and Andrew share good times. Behind the boys are the roller costers from Cedar Points. All day long you heard them run above our heads. To the left of Logen is one of the tube slides we rode.

WAVE POOL

Much of day was spent coming back to the wave pool. The waves were on a 10 min. rotation. Every time I went to get the camera to snap a few shot of the kids in the waves, they were done or I couldn't find them in the throngs of others enjoying their time. Here Kami walks out of the waves, Jordan starts into the pool and Jerome helps Jordy after the waves have subsided

Jordan having Fun

Jordan at the bottom of a large bucket that is dumped on the innocent and guilty alike. Here he is at the top of the giant climber. This was part of Splash Zone

Jordan and I take time for some lunch-pizza, burgers, fries, and pop,the lunch of the gods.

Taking a break

Logen, Andrew and I take a break from the fun and excitement. We arrived at the park when it opened and were able to secure a great spot under a canopy next to the wave pool. As the sun started to rise and set, we moved our chairs back under the cover. It seems these two are always napping....they must be teenagers. There were HUGE body slides (4) and 6 tube slides, one giant raft slide and a slide that was all enclosed with black tubes. When you started off, it was pitch black, not knowing where you were going was part of the thrill of it.

Fun in the Sun

Kami and Jordan enjoy some sunshine and swimming. There was a huge Splash Zone for the younger set. Kami and Jordan spent much time in this area. There was a giant climbing area with 6 slides, a GIANT wave pool, wading pools and sprinklers that shot up from the ground.

Kami's fun in the sun

There was a pool for the kids to swim in, rafts to climb on, basket balls to shoot and a rope/raft to test her skills on.
She and Jordan spent most of the day in the Splash Zone/Wave pool.
Kami hangin on

She made it across, it was harder than it looke!

Waiting for the shuttle

Jerome and I wait patiently , the kids, Jordan, Logen, Andrew, Kami

After a long, long day in the sun, we wait for the shuttle to come to the park to pick us up. We arrived in time for the 6pm shuttle only to be told it was full and had to wait for the next one. There was only one driver and one shuttle and the kids were THRILLED to wait an extra 45 min. to get back to the hotel

The End is Near

SOAK CITY HERE WE COME!!

http://www.cedarpoint.soakcity.com/

The end is near for school to be out and summer fun to begin. While all the children have been done with thier classes, teachers and books, Jerome and I are finishing up this week. He is working towards his BSN and I am towards my ADN. I just finished my CPR/First Aid/First Responder course (which I aced :)) and take my Microbiology/Infectious Disease final on Thursday. Our classes are only 7 weeks long so they are fast and furious. I am looking forward to summer begining. Jerome and I are taking the kids to Cedar Point Soak City, Sandusky, Ohio next week for a day at the water park.

We are all looking forward to this time together (6 hours of travel time) and a great day at the park. It looks like the weather will be coporating also. I will be taking TONS of pictures. This is also like a final HOOPLA with Logen. Since he works so much and will be leaving in Sept. for Texas and basic training, we wanted to do something extra special.
Stay tuned for the pics next week, I am so excited!
