Today is the day that we as a nation celebrated the Labor Day Holiday. For me it is a day of saying goodbye to my oldest son as he left for Basic Military Training in the US AirForce at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio TX. We have prepared for this day for the past year and 1/2 and he has looked forward to it for along time. As a young boy a dream has always been to fly and be a pilot in the Service. Whether this dream comes to fruition or not is up to him and the decisions he makes so we shall see what paths he takes and opportunities open up to him. This is a sad day for me, as I am sure EVERY mother who has sent their child on this path must share, except I don't want to be a part of this stage in my life. This has arrived much to soon for my liking, yet I bet it hasn't come soon enough for my offspring. I know that I have shared a bit of Logen over the past years, but I beg of you to humor a mother's aching heart as I share some of my boy with you...
"Listen, my son, to the discipline of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother. For they are a wreath of attractiveness to your head and a fine necklace to your throat. My son, if sinners try to seduce you, do not consent...my son, do not go in the way with them. Hold back your foot from their roadway, for their feet are those that run to sheer badness and they keep hastening to shed blood... My son, if you will recieve my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, so as to pay attention to widsom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernement itself, if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keeping searching for it, in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God. " Proverbs 1:8-10, 15-16, 2:1-5 NWT
