Mom's Visit~Dec. 2008

Anne's mom came for a two week visit in December. She braved the subzero temps, ice and snow to spend some time in blustery Michigan. The visit was wonderful. We baked Mom's traditional sticky buns, which I learned many years ago to "double the goopy stuff" before baking. They turned out yummy!

Andrew, Kami and Jordy spent a good part of her visit here with Jerome and I.

I am not sure what Kami and her Nana are doing, but it sure was making them laugh.

Jerome, Mom and I settle in for an evening of card playing!

As a family gift this year we purchased a Wii game system. Tennis was a hit and so was bowling. Mom had never played but was teachable. She did quite well with the bowling. I guess all those years on a Friday night league have finally payed off!

Mom, Kami and I hit the after-Christmas clearance sales on the 26th. Three generation of shoppers making a bee-line for the fun stuff. We had a great day, just us girls!

Winter Fun 2008

Hunter Boys '08

The cabin was lit "like a christmas tree" thanks to Jerome's brother Tadju. Everyone who came to the camp to visit loved the display~

Traditional bonfire the night of the 'feast' which fell on opening day. Aaron, Jerome's nephew and Jerome's brother Steve both got bucks opening weekend. Aaron was awarded the trophy jock to wear.

Tuesday night was another impromptu feast with friends and family over for steaks, potatoes, laughter and fun. Verna Bruski was one of the guests for the evening. She and her late husband Leo had a daughter named Kathy, who in turn married Jerome's brother Gene and the camp that we visit belonged to Leo~Gene's father-in-law. Jerome's dad and his friend Paula joined us for the evening as well as his brother Steve and brother-in-law Mike Stempky. Tadju's brother-in-law Tom and a few fellows from another camp joined us for cards and drinks. It was a great time had by all. Each year the steaks get better and so does the company.

This year I was able to join the 'boys' on Sunday night. Jerome and I hunted until Wednesday and then headed home. One day we saw 4 deer and the other two days none. I am so blessed to be a part of this family that is deeply rooted with much history and love!
